Roller derby has a way of inspiring people, young and old, in a way that's unlike any other sport.
The women who play roller derby are fierce and confident, providing great role models for the young women who watch them play. The Denver Roller Dolls take our role in the community very seriously. So when the Bad Apples received a letter from a young fan asking for a signed photo they decided to do her one better.Hannah is a student at Warder Elementary. Her teacher assigned the class a project-write to someone you admire. The point of the assignment was to show the students the power of the written word. Here's the letter the Bad Apples received:When the Bad Apples saw this they immediately started plotting and decided to show up at her school. After some communication issues with the school they finally managed to schedule a visit-on the very last day of classes. Hannah's face when the eight members of the Bad Apples Squad rolled into her classroom with a t-shirt and a signed photo is part of the reason we do what we do. The Denver Roller Dolls are so grateful for our fans. Your support helps us do what we love. So write us, Facebook us, come to our bouts! And who knows-maybe some derby girls will show up where you least expect them.
